NSX-T Lab Install Series

Welcome to my NSX-T lab install and configure series.
During this series of blogs I will detail how my lab is setup and a step by step guide on how to deploy NSX-T. I won’t go into too much detail on every component we’ll be deploying, I’ll keep that kind of detail for separate posts to keep the lab guide as simple as possible.

There will be two lab series running in parallel one covering NSX-T and the other NSX-V the NSX-V lab series can be found Here

The NSX-T lab will show the NSX interface with just the HTML 5 client as there is no flash client for the NSX manager.
The big difference between an NSX-V and an NSX-T deployment is that the NSX-V interface is accessed via the vCenter web client, NSX-T on the other hand is managed via the NSX manager web interface, there is no integration with the vCenter web client and in fact vCenter is not required for NSX-T to be used with vSphere hosts.

I won’t be covering how to install ESXi, AD, DNS or vCenter as they are out of scope for this series, but I will cover how my lab is configured including the basic physical switch configuration, vDS layout and Nested host setup and of course a full NSX-T deployment.
Dual site NSX-T deployments are still in their infancy but I will be covering them as well and most likely how to upgrade NSX-T since it is highly likely the version will change during this series.

I will be using the current release at the time of this post which is NSX-T 2.4.1

And so on with the series.
