Quick Tips: NSX-T Login Window with a User Agreement Banner

Intro

Sometimes customers have compliance requirements often in secure environments such as banks or defense systems etc as such along with other security measures it’s common for login banners and or consent forms to be used when logging into systems which is what this quick tip will cover.

Login Message without Explicit Consent.

Lets start of by setting up a simple login banner/message. Navigate to System > General Settings > User Interface Then under Login Consent Settings click EDIT

Toggle on the Login Consent, but leave unchecked the Require Explicit User Consent we’ll add that later.

Enter a title to follow the default ‘I agree to’ message, and you can also add some description text as well then click SAVE

Now log off and refresh the browser you will now see the ‘By logging in, you agree to’ message. Go ahead and login

The login banner/message we entered earlier will now pop up so click CLOSE to continue to the NSX-T home page.

Login Message with Explicit Consent.

Let’s edit our login requirement to require the explicit consent option. Navigate back to System > General Settings > User Interface Then under Login Consent Settings click EDIT. Now check the Require Explicit User Consent option then click SAVE

The difference this setting makes is that we now need to tick the ‘I agree to’ message each time we login.
